Readings

With the launch of A Bird on Every Tree, Carol was delighted to read and discuss her work at the Cabot Trail Writers’ Festival, the Vancouver Writers’ Festival, and the International Festival of Authors in Toronto.

In the past Carol has been a guest author at the Fog Lit Festival in Saint John, New Brunswick, the Eden Mills Festival in Guelph, Ontario, the Winterset Festival in Eastport, Newfoundland, the Northrop Frye Festival in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Read By The Sea in River John, Nova Scotia, as well as Word on the Street in Halifax. She has also appeared as a guest at other Maritime literary events, including the 2016 Lorenzo Reading Series at UNB, Saint John, and the Saint Mary’s University reading series.

Workshops

Carol has served as Writer in Residence at Acadia University and at Dalhousie, where she led fiction-writing workshops and mentored students and faculty engaged in various writing projects. Besides teaching analytical writing at NSCAD, Carol has taught creative writing at the Great Blue Heron Writing Workshop at St. Francis Xavier University; SeaWords at the University of Prince Edward Island, and at other Maritime universities including Acadia and Mount Saint Vincent, as well as the Nova Scotia Community College.
